Activism, ancient wisdom & alternatives
Defending and advancing indigenous and feminist ecological alternative
Description du service
Our world is facing multiple and intersecting crises, our environment and biosphere, upon which our very existence relies, is nearing collapse. The ecological and social crisis continues to be deepened by a colonial, patriarchal and neoliberal model of accumulation- driven by a logic of domination, submission and destruction of human beings and nature. This session convenes indigenous peoples, defenders and feminist ecologists from Africa and the global south to share strategies for the reclamation and advancement of indigenous knowledge systems in order to realise a decolonised future that guarantees human rights, gender justice and restores harmony with nature. In this session, through dialogue and art, we will collectively reimagine an alternative world that revalorises and strengthens the knowledge, wisdom and practices of indigenous peoples and south feminists. As part of this, we seek to revive and expand the demands and principles codified in the Peoples’ Agreement of Cochabamba - specifically the demand for reparations, restorative justice and the restitution of integrity to our Mother Earth.
